In 2018, I graduated Cum Laude from the University of California Irvine, with a degree in Psychology, emphasizing in Cognitive Neuroscience. My plan was to pursue a medical degree – I wanted to realize my passion for helping others. But, volunteering in the healthcare sector left me disillusioned about the “business” of medicine; so, I decided to instead hone my skills to advocate for others.
With law school in mind, to advance my practical skills related to law, I worked for a CEO doing business in real estate investment and development. Starting as a personal assistant, I was tasked with basic organizational and personal matters. After a few short months, I worked my way up to an apprenticeship. As an apprentice, I was involved in various business dealings, including commercial real estate contract review, commercial landlord/tenant dispute litigation, and funding procurement.
I enrolled at Santa Clara University’s (SCU) School of Law in 2020 and remotely attended my first year from my family's home in Burbank. I became a Student Advisor for SCU Law’s Entrepreneurs’ Legal Advising Clinic in my first year, advising low-income entrepreneurs on various business matters. The experience solidified my desire to pursue a career in corporate law. For the remaining two years of school, I concentrated on coursework relevant to the corporate sector, including Mergers & Acquisitions, Intellectual Property Survey, Capital Markets & Financial Misconduct, Law & Technology Silicon Valley, Advertising & Marketing, Legal Issues of Start-up Businesses, Real Estate Conveyancing, Securities Regulations, and Commercial Transactions. In May of 2023, I graduated from SCU Law with a Juris Doctor, along with a High Tech Law Certificate with Honors specializing in corporate law. I received the High Tech Excellence Award for academic year 2022-2023.
I joined LWD Advisors, Inc. as a first-year associate in August 2023, where I assisted an attorney providing affordable legal services to start-ups in the tech and sustainability sectors. During my time working, not only did I gain insight into the exciting developments being made in Silicon Valley, but also learned the ins and outs of how companies function on the day to day. I had the opportunity to meet and speak with various different businesspersons, including CEOs, project managers, bankers, brokers, engineers, and vendors, all with the goal of fostering mutually beneficial relationships. Some of my responsibilities included: contract redlining and revision, client and non-client engagement, preliminary risk assessment, legal research, creation and modification of organizational tools, and memo drafting.
I formally announced my candidacy for Burbank City Council on August 15, 2024. Moving forward, the number one goal of my campaign is to engage with my community in as many ways as possible. This includes attending City Council meetings, Burbank Board, Commission, and Committee meetings, touring City facilities, and attending community events. You can see my engagement calendar in the Contact page of this website.
